The logo is made, people have been loving it, makes me happy :) I saw photos of the logo stuck on beer mugs and people sipping beer beer out of them. Now THAT makes me happier! :P  They trust my design with their booze, and when people do that, you know you've nailed it. Nobody drinks out of a shitty looking glass and that's a fact.

Anyway, so the reveal was to be followed up with a splash page that would preceded the launch of the webpage. I was given a sitemap and the things to be included in there. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I really wanted to carry across the truck art theme across the entire conference. Hence, I looked up references of miniature Mughal paintings (which are very often used for truck art) and derived inspiration from them while creating the characters for the splash page. They turned out just like I had imagined. Now I had to stitch these elements into a base design that would marry all the other sections and visuals in the webpage. For this, I decided to go ahead with a paisley-based background with strong, bright Indian truck art hues. I wanted the splash page to look ornamental and almost like a newly wed Indian bride, since that what the splash page actually was :) It was the initiation of something big to come and there would be nothing better than comparing it to a newly wed bride.

Maybe none of what I just blabbered out made sense to you, or maybe it did. I would love to hear from you guys. Here's the splash page, check it out http://asia2016.drupal.org/
